New Era in Keeping Constant Tension in Stranding Processes

The tension measurement of running webs is one of the main areas for which FMS Force Measuring Systems (AG) (FMS) provides solutions. Originally designed for the converting industry, our products are now also used in many other industrial sectors. We have been providing solutions for the wire and cable industry for several decades. Together with our customers we became aware of the problem of tension measurement in rotating stranding lines and developed the fi rst systems for this 15 years ago. Five years ago we extended the pure tension measurement and off er closed loop tension control for both cage and tubular type stranding machines.
