Glass optical fiber is a crucial enabler for high-speed communications in data centers and fiber to the home, and automotive applications may embark on such a path in the near future. As data rates inside automobiles rapidly increase due to the emerging Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and the associated high-end sensors, the network is approaching the limits of electrical solutions.
