Sustainable Water-Blocking Gel for Fiber Optics Wire & Cable

Northbrook, IL, USA, reports that M. Holland Company, a distributor of UNIGEL and UNITAPE
products in the USA, recently introduced a new water-blocking gel for fiber optic and wire and cable
markets.
UNIGEL’s new UNILITE PP water blocking gel is more sustainable than traditional gel products.
And it is specifically designed to improve compatibility to polypropylene (such as in buffer tube
applications).
The UNILITE PP gel delivered results with a percentage mass gain of 3.6% during a submersion test
of polypropylene (Borealis PP1121 tested).
In addition to this improved compatibility, the gel’s foundation is made of a natural, bio-based oil, a
