The melting point of the polyethylenebased resin is 80°C or higher and 130°C or lower.

Assuming a conductor cross-sectional area of the flat portion as s mm2 and a vacancy ratio defined as a ratio of vacancies not occupied by the elemental wires in a cross section of the flat portion as v %, the conductor cross-sectional area and the vacancy ratio satisfies v>0.29 s+2.0. The covered electric wire contains electric wire conductor and an insulator covering the conductor. The wiring harness contains the covered electric wire.

The electromagnetic shielding layer covers the wire. The electromagnetic shielding layer is in the form of fiber mesh, including a conductive polymer. A manufacturing method includes: feeding the conductive polymer, melting the conductive polymer, extruding the molten conductive polymer to form a plurality of conductive polymer fibers, covering the wire with the plurality of conductive polymer fibers and curing the plurality of the conductive polymer fibers to form the electromagnetic shielding layer covering the wire. The electromagnetic shielding layer of the cable of the present application replaces current aluminum foil shielding and metal shielding for conventional wires, decreasing interference by electromagnetic waves produced by electromagnetic induction on electronic devices nearby.

The electrical cable assembly includes a multiconductor flat cable including a first and second electrically conductive wire arranged in a coplanar fashion with each other and encased within a planar dielectric structure. A slot is defined in the planar dielectric structure intermediate the first and second wires, thereby forming first wing features in the dielectric structure extending from the first wire and second wing features extending from the second wire. Exposed portions of the first and second wires extend beyond the first and second wing features. A method of forming the electrical cable assembly, an apparatus for forming the electrical cable assembly, and an electrical terminal configured for use in the electrical cable assembly is also presented. The wing features may include holes and the terminals may include prongs to be received in the holes.

The insulator has an outer surface and extends along a longitudinal axis for a length of the electrical cable. The conductor assembly has a coating layer on the outer surface of the insulator being conductive defining an inner electrical shield of the electrical cable. A cable shield is wrapped around the conductor assembly and has an inner edge and an outer edge. The outer edge is wrapped over the inner edge to form a flap covering the inner edge and extending along the longitudinal axis. The cable shield engages the inner electrical shield and forms an outer electrical shield exterior of the inner electrical shield.

Insulated Wire Capable of Changing Color When Overheated Under Current Load and Method for Making the Same
United States Patent 11,062,823 Issued July 13, 2021 Inventor: Cheng-Lang Tsai, New Taipei, Taiwan An insulated wire capable of changing color when overheated under a current load includes an insulated core, at least one thermochromic strip and a transparent plastic protective layer. The thermochromic strip is wound and fixed on the peripheral surface of the insulated core. The transparent plastic protective layer clads the peripheral surface of the insulated core and/or the top surface of the thermochromic strip. When the insulated core is overloaded and generates heat, the heat is transmitted to, and thereby changes the color of, the thermochromic strip. The color change is visible through the transparent plastic protective layer and can therefore alert the wire user in real time that the load on the insulated wire should be lowered.

Copper-Coated Magnesium Wire and Method for Manufacturing the Same

The above-described problem is solved by a copper-coated magnesium wire (10) comprising a core material (1) made of magnesium, and a copper coating layer (2) made of copper or a copper alloy provided on a surface of the core material (1). In the copper-coated magnesium wire (10), a wire drawing mark is present on a surface of the copper coating layer (2), and the diameter is preferably within a range of 0.03 to 0.08 mm, inclusive. Further, a thickness of the copper coating layer (2) is preferably within a range of 5% to 30%, inclusive, as a ratio of the overall cross-sectional area. An insulating coating layer (3) may be provided on an outer circumferential side of the copper coating layer (2).

Non-Halogen Flame-Retardant Insulated Electric Wire and Non-Halogen Flame-Retardant Cable

A high viscosity, high molecular weight silicone based pulling lubricant or fatty acid amide pulling lubricant is incorporated by alternate methods with the polyethylene to form a composition from which the outer sheath is extruded, and is effective to reduce the required pulling force on the cable during installation.
